Mmm... Hubris, fresh from the oven

I am one of those cooks that, for the most part, must stick to a recipe. I can ad lib on a few dishes, but I'm just not comfortable cooking that way.
That being said, you give me a recipe and I'll give you awesomeness (except cake and sometimes bread).
But out of all recipe types, I have mastered the cookie.
So when Laura, who is coming for a visit (YAY!), asked if I could make her cookie bowls,

Cookie Bowl

I said absolutely. No doubt in my mind that I could do this and it would be amazing.
I've seen on Pinterest that others have used the wrong side of muffin pans to make the bowls.
I'll just bust out my muffin pan and whip up a batch of my favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe, and, BAM! Cookie bowls.
Yeah. Not so much.

The horror!
Yeah, so apparently you need some kind of special recipe to avoid this situation.
At first I thought I could just cut around the bottom of the muffin mold to pull up the "bowl." I let the blob cool for awhile, thinking the bowls would come up easier.
Wrong again. They will not be coming off in one piece.
Fortunately, there was dough left over so I made normal cookies. Stick to what you know, Allie.

Perfect

Would you believe that these taste good?

This is how lazy procrastinators blog

Breaking radio silence here to ask if it's cheating to fudge the date on blog posts?
You see, I have tons of blogs I'm ready to write and pictures to go with them - I just never sat down to write about it.
Maybe it is cheating, but it's my blog and you're not the boss of me. :)
So let's pretend that one of the awesome crafts I've been working on is a time machine and we'll go back to August. I'll bring you right back to January, and it will seem to those around you that you've only been gone as long as it takes for you to read all my make-up blogs.
There are a few, because between bouts of work-related sadness and some pretty epic tantrums, I've managed to do a fair bit of crafting and blog-worthy stuff.

WHOOSH! *cue time travel sounds and music (I imagine time travel would have some kind of techno-music soundtrack, but imagine what you feel is best).
Now scroll down to the Merry Pottermas post.
What? Didn't know time travel was so easy?
