I started out without any inspiration at all for handmade Christmas presents. I was very happy with that situation. Nearly all the Christmas presents were purchased this year. I'm not sure if that's a good or sad thing. It did make for a less stressful holiday.
I finished the Hermoine hat for Stina.
What a slog that project was. The yarn was terrible. I wish I could remember what brand and type it was so I could tell you to avoid it like the plague. It was bamboo, so now I will forever hate that fiber. So splitty it was infuriating. Knitting splitty yarn with rosewood dpns with a tiny crack on one side that kept snagging the splitty yarn makes for a very unhappy knitter. It turned out nicely, but I am so glad to be done with it.So glad that I forgot to photograph it when it was done. Oops.
I made a braided hex-nut bracelet for Laura.
She's not a very girly girl, but she does like jewelry, so when I saw it on Pinterest, I knew it would be a perfect gift for her.
I did go a bit craft crazy on gifts for Sean. He puts lots of expensive things on his Christmas list, leaving me with few options within our budget.
I made him a remote caddy to go over the arm of his recliner, a pillow for his office chair, an iPad cozy, and a steampunk Nerf gun.
I did such an awesome job on this, I still can't believe I did it
To fully illustrate how awesome my work is, this is what it looked like originally:
The bracelet and the gun go into the very small category of crafts that turned out exactly as imagined.
Yay, me!
