Heat Stroke Evasion Part 2: As God As My Witness

The house came with curtains in every room.
Some of them are nice and will stay. Some of them aren't awful, but a suitable replacement is being sought. Others were so bad - like the piece of fabric that was sewn into a giant loop and thrown onto a tension rod - they were immediately removed.
I kept all the curtains we took down so I could use the fabric for sewing practice.
After tailoring Sean's roman shades, quite a bit of the fabric was left over - enough to make a tote bag.
I found a tutorial and got started.
Everything was going really well until I ran out of thread which threw me off until Sunday night when I finally finished it.
I call this bag Tara. It is made from the remnants of Sean's roman shades and lined with fabric from the giant loop curtain.
Here is my honest, yet not too harsh, assessment of my work: It's an excellent finished project for a self-taught sewist (I know the actual word is sewer, but really who wants to call themselves that?).

My stitching is atrocious, but it's held together well and should last me for quite some time.
I'd post some close ups of the stitching, but why ruin it? From far away, it looks like a complete success!
I'm proud of my first sewn bag.
I would like to try making some kind of clothing, but after seeing that I can't seem to sew a straight line, I should probably practice a bit more before trying anything more complicated.

David - Thanks! It's Pride & Prejudice and Zombies! It illustrates the presence of a pocket and hopefully draws the eye away from any visible defects. Never take your eye off a zombie, it may be the last thing you ever do.
Sean - Thank you!
