I'm a sucker for a bit o' blarney

Last year I stumbled upon a Facebook page dedicated to promoting the only real way to make Irish Soda Bread.
I had no idea people were so militant about soda bread.
I just like to make it because all the myriad recipes out there are super easy and yield a nice dense bread.
The militants' recipe for soda bread is the simplest I've come across so I gave it a shot. It produced a bread that garnered some of my highest non-family praise.
The wife of my newspaper's food critic told me my soda bread was the best she'd ever had, and the texture is perfect.
A couple of weeks ago another reporter told me that she was looking forward to my soda bread on St. Patrick's Day.
It is that memorable, people.
Overt flattery? Very possible. But because that kind of devotion (real or not) deserves more than just a few slices of the communal loaf, I made her a loaf all for herself.
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Didn't take a pic of the bread, but I did snap one of the loaves all packaged up
