Sorry, miles away dear

I got absolutely nothing done this weekend.
Sure, the laundry is done and food was prepared (Italian Chicken Wraps, Smoked Paprika Roasted Chicken Breasts, Braised Green Beans and mashed potatoes), but I didn't even start on any of the things I had planned to do.
No knitting.
No furniture rearranging.
No baking.
The cause wasn't so much procrastination as it was a loss of focus at the sight of shiny things, peer pressure and general spaciness.

Friday we slept in (so wonderful), went to the gym, did some mindless Internet surfing and then remembered that we were supposed to look for a new shed. That turned into random wandering at Lowe's. We didn't get a shed, but we did get new water bottles.

Saturday we remembered that last weekend we wanted to look at bicycles. We went to Landis Cyclery and learned a lot about bikes best suited for giants like Sean from a really knowledgeable salesman. The prices there are on the high side for us, but you don't get that kind assistance at Walmart.

Landis is next door to Zinnia's at Melrose, a big vintage junk mall.
I really did go in with the intention of looking for vintage fabric as I can’t find anything at fabric stores that matches the picture in my head of how my kitchen and craft room curtains look.
I didn't find any fabric I liked that didn't have holes in it or wasn't stained. I may have to resort to -gasp- online shopping.
We left Zinnia's with an index-card file cabinet, three film reels, an old fan and a couple of other new items for me to dust.

I LOVE the little file cabinet.

I have been reluctant to start organizing my office because I really see creating my own closet organizer by stacking lots of these in various colors and sizes. Old and funky suits me much better than brand new press board from Ikea. The only problem with this plan is that finding lots of these will take a lot longer than buying the Martha Stewart closet organizing system at Home Depot.
Oh well, one down, lots left to go.

All of these outings were punctuated with some very irresponsible video-game playing with family.
Twice this weekend, as I started to sit down to watch a movie and knit a mate to the awful "slipper" I made last weekend, my family coerced me to play Call of Duty: Black Ops.
Yeah, you know I think I'm gonna blame my family for this weekend's lack of productivity. Sorry, guys.
